Tim Harvey is a litigator. He has represented individuals and companies in federal courts, state courts, private arbitrations, and mediations. Mr. Harvey has also represented clients in adversary proceedings in bankruptcy courts and in administrative hearings before state agencies. Representative matters include contract disputes, software disputes, trademark infringement, copyright infringement, transactions under the uniform commercial code, and torts such as fraud and misrepresentation.
Mr. Harvey has won trial verdicts in matters involving breach of contract, copyright infringement, and violation of consumer protection laws, among other claims. He also won a trial to inject copyrighted musical compositions into the public domain and has won trials to protect sound recordings under both federal and state law.
Mr. Harvey graduated from Vanderbilt University School of Law in 2000, where he was a John W. Wade Scholar, Problem Editor for the Moot Court Board, and a Member of the Order of the Coif. Before joining the firm, he clerked for the Honorable Thomas A. Wiseman, Jr., Senior Judge, United States District Court, Middle District of Tennessee. He graduated summa cum laude from Vanderbilt University in 1995 with a B.A. in English and from the University of Tennessee in 1997 with an M.A. in English.
