Elizabeth O. Gonser

Elizabeth Gonser focuses her practice on advising and resolving commercial disputes for individual, municipal and corporate clients.  Elizabeth’s most recent experience includes obtaining a dismissal with prejudice on behalf of a university professor against claims for violations of Title VII and the Tennessee Human Rights Act; ongoing defense in a state-wide telecommunications class action; representing a Tennessee municipality in favorably resolving municipal interest rate swap agreements; successfully appealing a judgment and securing a new trial for an out-of-state business; negotiating the departure of two physicians from their practice group; and representing an apartment complex in their negotiations with the city regarding code compliance.  Elizabeth practices in both state and federal court.

Ms. Gonser graduated from Vanderbilt University Law School, where she was the graduating class recipient of the National Association of Women Lawyers’ Outstanding Law Student Award.  Elizabeth earned Best Oralist distinction in the Intramural Moot Court Competition and was the top competitor on the Jessup International Law Moot Court Team.  Elizabeth graduated with honors from The George Washington University in 2001 with a dual B.A. degree in Environmental Studies and Geography.

Before attending law school, Ms. Gonser worked in the communications and research division of an international non-profit based in Washington, D.C.  Elizabeth continues to engage with her community as Vice-President of the Board of Directors of The Bridge Nashville, Inc, a local non-profit organization that seeks to inspire high-potential, high-risk middle and high school students to value learning and enroll in college.  Elizabeth also volunteers with the Young Professionals Committee of the Martha O’Bryan Center.
